ADHD Self referral support service
A new adult ADHD non-clinical support service will launch on 1 July 2026 for people living in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Delivered by ADHD North West, the service offers practical support, education, and peer connection for adults experiencing ADHD-related challenges.
The service is designed to work alongside existing NHS services and can support people before, during, or after an ADHD assessment or diagnosis.
This is not a referral for an ADHD assessment.
Who can access the service?
You can access this service if you are aged 18 or over and:
- are waiting for an ADHD assessment or treatment;
- have already received an ADHD diagnosis;
- experience challenges that may be linked to ADHD traits, with or without a diagnosis; or
- would like practical support to improve wellbeing, organisation, and daily life.
You do not need an ADHD diagnosis to access support.
What support is available?
The service offers a structured programme of online group sessions covering topics such as:
- understanding ADHD in adulthood;
- managing time, organisation, and daily tasks;
- emotional wellbeing and regulation;
- building healthy routines and self-care;
- understanding treatment options;
- communication and relationships; and
- confidence and self-esteem.
Sessions are led by trained facilitators, including people with lived experience of ADHD. The programme follows a neuro-affirmative and trauma-informed approach.
There will also be opportunities to connect with others through peer support, helping to reduce isolation and share experiences.
How can this service help?
The programme aims to help adults:
- improve their understanding of ADHD;
- build confidence and self-esteem;
- support day-to-day functioning and wellbeing;
- reduce isolation and stigma; and
- make informed decisions about care and treatment.
By offering support early, the service helps people access the right help at the right time.
