Prescriptions
Ordering repeat prescriptions
If you are on regular medication, you can typically order repeat prescriptions without a doctor’s appointment. However, you may occasionally be asked to see a doctor for a medication review to ensure your treatment remains appropriate.
How to Request a Repeat Prescription:
You can request repeat prescriptions through one of the following methods:
Online:
- Via the NHS App, Patient Access, or myGP. Try the NHS App here.
- Using our dedicated online form (please click the ‘Order your repeat prescription form’ link below).
- Email: Send your request to blackpool.highfieldprescriptions@nhs.net.
- In Person: Complete a paper request form and submit it at our first-floor reception.
Processing Time
Please allow 48 hours for your repeat prescription to be issued. After this time, please contact your pharmacy directly to confirm if it’s ready for collection.
Prescription Enquiries
Our dedicated prescription telephone line is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. For queries outside these hours, or for general prescription enquiries, you can email us at any time: blackpool.highfieldprescriptions@nhs.net.
Ordering Early for Travel (Controlled Drugs)
If you require an early prescription due to international travel, particularly for a controlled drug (please refer to the official Controlled Drugs List – GOV.UK), you must provide proof of travel to our prescriptions team. This proof, such as flight tickets clearly showing your name and travel dates, should be emailed to blackpool.highfieldprescriptions@nhs.net.

Please note: This dedicated phone line and email address are primarily for prescription queries. If you need to order a prescription and are not elderly or vulnerable, please use our standard online ordering system or drop-off service.
