Skinhub service
We are dedicated to providing our patients with specialised care where possible, therefore we have started a pilot scheme called Skinhub. Below you will find all the information you need about our skinhub service, including how to request an appointment, the process you will follow, and what to expect at each stage of your care.
You must be over 18 to use this service
How to request an appointment
If you have a skin complaint, such as a mole, please follow these steps to request an appointment:
- Contact Highfield Surgery by phone or in person to speak with our receptionist.
- The receptionist will triage your request, gathering important information about your skin complaint.
- Your request will then be forwarded to the skin hub clinic for further processing.
Booking your appointment
Once your request has been received by the skin hub clinic, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment. During this appointment, you will have the opportunity to have your skin issue professionally photographed. This is a crucial step in ensuring an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
What to expect at your appointment
- Upon arrival at Highfield Surgery, you will be greeted by our friendly staff.
- A healthcare assistant will take high-quality photographs of your skin complaint.
- These photographs will be securely sent to our team of consultants at the skin hub.
Consultation and outcome
After your photographs have been reviewed by our experienced consultants at the skin hub, they will contact you with the outcome. The consultants will provide you with a detailed explanation of their findings and discuss the next steps in your treatment plan.
Referral to secondary care
If necessary, the skin hub will refer you to secondary care for further evaluation and treatment. This may include a referral to a dermatology clinic or a fast track clinic, depending on the urgency and nature of your skin complaint.
