Request an appointment online – Total triage
Highfield surgery is pleased to provide an update on our upcoming changes to how you can access GP appointments. Following valuable patient feedback, we are proceeding with the implementation of Total Triage from 1st July 2025.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts on our proposed changes. We listened carefully and understand that concerns were raised, particularly regarding access for patients who may find online systems challenging.
We want to reassure all patients: the option to contact us via telephone will absolutely remain available.
Here’s how our new system will work and what it means for you:
- Using the Online System: If you are able to use our online system, we kindly request that you submit your GP appointment requests using the provided link. This approach significantly helps us manage demand more efficiently and ensures our phone lines are more readily available for those who need them most.
- Telephone Access for All: We recognise that some of our elderly or more vulnerable patients, or those without internet access, may not find the online system suitable. Please be assured, you can still call us for assistance. Our goal is to improve how we prioritise and manage appointments to provide safe and timely care for everyone, not to create barriers. Our reception team is ready to support you in getting the care you need.
Your feedback has been instrumental in helping us refine these changes to be fair and inclusive. With telephone access clearly confirmed as an ongoing option, we are moving forward with our plan to implement Total Triage from 1st July 2025.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we make this important transition to enhance access and care for all our patients.
